I read a story recently about war deaths of WW1-WW2, they said the west supplied the guns and iron, the Russians supplied the blood. As an example, they said that of the Russian boys born in 1925, something like 80-90% did not survive WW2.
The Russians (Soviets) probably killed as many of them as the Germans did.
I’ve noticed the last few years that narrative of WW2 seems to have changed to “the Russians mostly won it” instead of “us”.
While not knocking the Soviets contribution to victory over the Axis powers, they would have probably lost if not for the US Army Air Corp bombing German factories, railroads and cities around the clock. |
