Subject: Neat patterns that soil conservation practices make

nw NC
Five years ago when we were in Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota on vacation visiting relatives, We went to Dubuque, Iowa, crossed the river into southwestern Wisconsin and drove up 61 to 18 west and crossed the river back into Iowa at Prairie Du Chien . Tonight I was looking at pictures from the trip and also google maps to trace our route. The farming of the land through that area was extremely scenic what with the fields laid out on the contour and waterways used where needed. I looked at Satellite view of the area and it is astounding to see the patterns that soil conservation practices have given to the surface of the earth. The picture below is typical of what can be seen in southwestern Wisconsin. If you have never looked at satellite view of various areas of the country, it is worth the time to see how farming has made its mark on the land.
