That's pretty interesting on the double ears. I saw quite a few on one farm this year. We have been planting 32k here. Dropped some to 28.5, and another plot to 26 just to see what we got. Have had mixed reviews on suggestions, and some out of the area said we should go with a lower population because of yield averages, and others closer to us said we need the higher pops to get a good stand. I'm anxious to see how yield turns out. Some of what we had at 28.5 had no tip back. We pick up a good bit of ground with fertility issues the first couple years, but from what I see here, 32k may be our sweet spot?
