We use the minimum 2 7/8" and weld cleats on the the end post to help keep it from pulling up 3 - 3.5' drove into the ground a 3 post or double H for the corners and a single H at the 1/2 quarter mark 6 wire 12.5 ga and tee post 10-12' apart and wire stays where needed
