Subject: RE: Jake's Wire Tighteners

1 hour east of ol cheyenne
Ever tried to roll up wire with those things on it. A total pain in the mule's backside by hand and dangerous with a power winder ( the wire breaks next to them, because of behind kinked around them then rusts making it very weak, when trying to pull it to the winder sometimes near the winder and they sling around the spool wildly until it is shutdown).
Then a real SOB to unroll it ( from a spool they snag and catch the other layers of wire on the roll) standard loop splices are not a problem 99% of the time.either way. Just speaking from experience. I agree that conditions are very different every where but I sure cannot see any benefit from those things and at almost a buck each they are expensive.
BTW I have over 75 miles of fence to maintain (border and cross fences) so I might have just a little experience.
