SWOH | I was in 4H for 10 years and FFA for 4, but probably not the typical 4H experience. Didn’t give a rip about showmanship or even winning market classes, but sale day was what it was about for me. We just went out and picked some feeder pigs out of the barn and fed them for 3 months. This was 30 years ago and before all the show pigs got popular. Never did any other projects and our meetings consisted of 10 minutes of the important stuff and then screwed off for a half hour with the guys in my club. I made quite a bit more money at the 4H sale than I would have just raising hogs and taking them to the sale barn. We did not take 4H seriously at all.
