We are taking about half that much since it is summer but take that much or more in the colder weather if we are home. When we are nearer the equator in the winter we may or may not take it. One reason we continue to take it is for the K2.

They make the K2 and D3 separately but it is a lot cheaper just to take the two in one pill or drop. We started out taking the drops because we could travel easily with it. One little bottle has 1000 drops so taking between one and five drops a day it will last a long time and does not take up much weight or space. But I think once we get through our current supply we will go to the capsules. I don't know, we will probably still travel with the drops and use the capsules at home. We leave for 3.5 months in the winter and packing luggage with all the stuff we need for diving and living always gets tight on weight and space. Supplements are somewhat available where we go but the price is two or three times what we would pay on line. So we try to take what we need with us. The drops take up almost no space or weight. Several bottles or a big bag of pills would.

With the drops, since D3 and K2 are fat soluable, we try to take them with some MCT or liquid fish oil just to give them more fats for better absorption. But on the bottle they say it can be dropped under the tongue (which we do sometimes - hard to do by yourself and know how much you are getting) or even mix it in a drink which we never do. The capsules will already have a dose of oil carrier. The drops are also carried by MCT oil but at a single drop it is not much.
