Wow, that's a real bad deal and I hope you get some better advice on here than I have to give. If I was you, I'd go to the closest DMV with all my paperwork and ask them what to do. Mine was a renewal, and I took my old registration in and was able to do it right in the DMV, so maybe they could help you there?
