Subject: RE: Silage bag base

Northeast Iowa
Got a couple on a former bunker floor and some on lime. Prefer the concrete. Lime needs to be down for a few months to get firm enough not to turn to mush. I'd rather have some lime end up in the feed or the spreader when I clean there area vs gravel.

I think silage pads may qualify for the USDA Farm Storage Facility Loan program. https://www.fsa.usda.gov/programs-and-services/price-support/facilit... Check with your FSA office before you do any site prep or order materials. One staffer said they went out to check on a prospect for a bin loan and the bin pieces were on the ground next to the prepped slab, ready to be assembled. He got turned down.
