How are your expenses much less than anywhere else? Unless you are including rent. Maybe your basis different but cant be that different. Got free n?

You must have never been to SC Kansas....At one time that area was almost all dry land wheat and milo country..For them growing 130 bu corn would be like you growing 260 bu corn....Their costs are much less..I had a late uncle that farmed for many years at Caldwell,KS and made good money on 40 bu wheat.

Corn harvest is going on in SE Kansas and SW Missouri...I have heard of yields from 10 to 100 bu per acre..A few areas that got under a local storm probably have better yields than that....There hasn't been a wide spread rain in this area since late May...I've guessed my renters corn at 75-90 bu per acre when 140-150 is normal..Just a few miles away they had less rain than me and have chopped some of the corn for silage...
