Insurance appraisal for silage on a silage policy is done by weighing the complete stalks of 1/2000 the of an acre so if you still have part of the field left you could do a simple check this way. Example would be on 30 inch rows use 8.7 ft cut at approximately the same height as chopper did and weigh. The weight is tons per acre of course you need an average of the field in regards to the sample.
