Subject: RE: Air drying corn question

I use to air dry in a 42' bin. Mine had 2 15hp centrifugal fans & 4oof vents 8n every other roof panel. IIRC, cfm was 1.3. If corn was 18& I would fill half full then run fans till it was 16% then fill bin and finish drying. Doing this I could dry bin full, empty & dry another in full if weather conditions were right. 20%corn would fill 1/3, dry to 16/, fill another 1/33 & dry to 16, then fill bin and finish drying. Only could do 1 bin full.

I also had a 30' bin with a 10 hp centrifugal fan we would do same in. As corn got deeper it took longer to dry because of lower cfms.
