Dayton, IA | There should be a torque wrench specifically for your header on the back side of the head by the feeder house. You put that on a bolt head above each side of the feeder house to check how much pressure it takes to raise and lower each wing. You want just a little more pressure down than up. If the stickers have not worn off, it should have a diagram near the adjustment bolt to show you which way to adjust for more or less pressure up or down. Don't adjust based on frown or smile when the head is raised off the ground. Use the torque wrench and raise up and down slow and steady a few times and make it just a little more pressure to come up than it takes to go down. That will keep your wings from being too light and bouncing up and down as you go across the field.
