Subject: RE: Permission

North of London

I wasn't leaving as long as he was treating his daughter the way he was.

That is where I and my wife look at it.
No one else's place to decide what she and i wanted so no need to ask permission of parents.

In my mind that is a very old and bad way to operate where an adult person can not make their own decisions.
None of our children asked us for permission to marry or date anyone.

If children are raised to be independent people then marriage is just another decision that they get to make on their own.

Raise them properly and allow them to live their own lives.
Perhaps that is why we have 3 children in upper management positions and one with her own business until health slowed her down.
