Start at 10% new and step into slowly. If you have some drier stuff, start on it. My Ration is 50% earlage today.
Edit, do NOT step the cattle up on NEG when introducing fresh feed.....I actually pulled mine down a point or two while working in the new earlage. Their stools will tell ya everything!
Well that are the deAD ONES WILL!
Chopped earlage for large feedlot and then switched 5000 head over to earlage in one day-mostly 1200# steers-the feed wagon guy wanted to find out how good a feeder he really was! They were on a finish ration of dry corn and roughage-earlage was 23%.
When you talk to Joe---- Carlson ask him about Brummers feedlot-never missed a beat-talk about balls! |
