CENTRAL ILLINIOS | Heard from another market advisor yesterday saying DO NOT STORE BEANS. Well obviously somebody has to store at least some of them. The end user can’t fill up this fall then be good til next harvest. So the question is what’s going to change (basis or spreads) between now and the end of soybean harvest To convince someone to bin them. Today my basis for harvest is -16 Nov or about -22 July. What should I be doing now to capitalize on the coming crunch when every farmer in the neighborhood comes to town with their beans. I’m not a sophisticated marketer obviously or I would be telling you how to play this. Is there any strategy where I could sell today’s basis but then be able to back out of that and still bin them if there gets to be a better carry/basis opportunity. | |
