Subject: RE: Single Axle to replace farm pickup thoughts

Helenville,WI
Have a single axle 2002 freightliner with a 9 speed and 215 horse cat. Pulls a 30 foot goose with 17-18k lbs hay around without trouble. Pull a single axle grain trailer in the fall, and it definitely slow on hills with 600-650 bu on it, but works fine for my purposes. A diff lock would be really nice. I do not run it on snow or ice, and wouldn't recommend it. Really nice having air brakes on truck vs a pickup. Would not go back to a pickup.
