If the ground has good soil moisture and the ground is covered with the new alfalfa - it'll have to get very cold for several hours to kill the new seeding. The moisture and new seeding will hold and transpire a lot of heat, helping it not to freeze.

Hard to believe you'll have frost warnings when we have warm temps here in the northern latitudes . . . . . .
