NeMO | From what I've seen in the past those that waited payed a lot more than what drying cost would be. After the stalks started to get real dry and rot it was an absolute nightmare to try to pick up and get to feed. When there is a little moisture left in the stalk it will feed better. Not to mention the quality of the grain after it sits on the ground longer. In my mind I go after the down stuff when it gets to a reasonable moisture and get as much as i can. Also if you are worn down from a long harvest it is even more frustrating fighting that crap at the end. But I know some have their entire crop that way so that's obviously horrible. And if you're close to insurance guarantee it changes things a little. | |
