Twin Falls, Idaho | As other poster said, it is off label but I did it this year. I had a cover crop of wheat/barley planted this spring and needed to terminate before planting black beans. I planted my beans green and the next day I went and sprayed 8 oz of 2-4D ester, Roundup, and my pre-emerge. I then turned on the pivot to water in the pre-emerge and beans came up great with no damage. I wouldn't be afraid to go a higher rate next time. I used the soybean label as a guide for the black beans and they recommend 1 week ahead of planting for 8 oz I believe. My understanding is that the ester formation isn't very water soluble so much less risk of it getting down to the germinating seed. | |
