Not sure if this is the right forum but here it is. It is my understanding that a river levee on purchase is depreciable over 15 yrs. I'm looking for advice on how to determine a fair value satisfactory to the IRS. Full replacement value from a licensed contractor? Looking for input from anyone with experience on this issue.
