Southwest MN | We run ewes on 2 strands of polybraid as an exterior fence but is very hot 9000+ volts. We try and use a single strand polybraid for rotational grazing some years it works others we struggle to put the fear into them. Have 1 ewe that won't go to grass again because she runs and ducks underneath. Need to start with 4-5 strands after time can go less and less. If you can keep atleast a small amount of hotwire going all year. I am kind of mean when starting in the spring we put pails of feed next to the fence for them to try and get. Works fast. People say its mean but what's worse a flock of sheep on the road or respect for a fence. Also try a offset hot wire to the inside low maybe 7" anda foot off the other they are gonna have to hit that before main fence should help also. | |
