SC KS | Fall 2011 I rented a 55 ac piece in 3 patches from neighbor across the road from our farm. Landlord had a few cows when he farmed it so it was graze out wheat that got combined for 10-20 bpa. Rotated with sudan for hay. Cec and phos in single digits, K levels in the low double digits. Ph upper 4- mid 5. 2012 heat hit and I somehow produced 3 ton sudan that I sold well. Probably the last time I actually made money farming. Planted it to beans next and that was miserable! Looked great until a dry August hit and the deer grazed them into the ground. Still farm it but with lower expectations. | |
