Calcium carbonate should run less than $5 for 50 lbs. If you are only feeding low starch ingredients you may be okay even with some sulfur in your water. The way I have heard it explained is sulfuric acid is formed if the rumen pH gets too low, and when your cow burps it’s like snorting sulfuric acid.
