That’s the draw back back of the Peking varieties, they are few and far between because they just don’t tend to yield very well compared to the PI88788 lines.

But I also agree that nematodes are much more prevalent, even in corn, then most in the industry realize.

The PI88788 lines have been losing effectiveness

We are starting to see a lot more options from seed treatments that have some control on nematodes.

Pioneer Peking soybeans have dominated WinField Solutions Answer plots for past 2 years in all RM. This would include over 150 locations with multiple replications, so large data set. I'm not a big supporter of Pioneer at all but facts are they have highest yielding beans and are Peking background. These are Extend trait so may not matter with seed companies going away from this trait package.

They are finally getting some of the other SCN resistance lines breed into the top soybean genetics. This has taken a long time because the PI 88788 lines are easier to breed, they only have one gene, while the Peking line of resistance stems from two genes.

This is good news for the soybean industry. It’s been a long time coming but breeders are finally getting the other lines to yield parity.

Yes it is!
