I didn't use round scaffolding, but I took down a 14 x 45 and a 20 x 60 at my place with a man lift. Looks like your situation may be a bit tight to get the basket where needed. I took the bands off of the top three rows, then removed the top two rows one at a time, dropping them to the inside on some soft silage still in the silo pit. As I re-positioned the manlift around, had another guy go inside the silo and retrieve the staves and stack them on a pallet outside. A lot of work, but I was able to sell all the staves that did not break on the way down.
What kind of man lift did you use and how far did it reach? I was trying to make it work with a towable manlift, but seems like that will be too small. Those self propelled ones on four wheels seem like the answer, the 80' option is a few thousand to have it delivered to our site for a few days much to my suprise. |
