Subject: RE: Ewe ration questions

Northwest Iowa
Re read your post and you said bred ewes. My ewes are just approaching mid gestation I’m feeding the ration from my post earlier of 1#corn, 1.25 alfalfa, and it’s all you can eat corn stalks that I just set out. I have way to many leftover and trying to get them gone but 2 pounds roughly would get you what you need for mid gestation.

Month before lambing I go 4 pounds of good alfalfa/grass mix and 2 pounds of corn for lamb development. Don’t over do the grass need less bulky feed at this time for lamb growth. When I grind I go 3 bales alfalfa/1 bale grass just to stretch my alfalfa bc of the $$$ of it. I wouldn’t do the soyhull ration until lambing or after lambing way to expensive.
