North Central Illinois | I guess we get to see how the system works in a dry year. The corn looks very good considering the weather.
My cover crop is hanging on, but doesn't have much biomass most places. Companion crop is doing ok, but there's a bit of standability concern where squash fruits are set above the corn ear.
We picked up 2.25" of rain Saturday after 0.35" total in August. We had good moisture in July (5.2") after a very dry June (1.5"). Looks like we'll get more tonight. Despite the rain Saturday, conditions were good for working ground and drilling some canola today.
