Subject: RE: Corn ear tip back causes

NW IN
This corn is close to perfect population. Some tip back usually means you have the population right for the conditions the corn plant was in. My corn in this field was subsurface irrigated starting June 15 and is still running. We have had very little rain since then. Corn is planted at 36000, ear count is 35000. Not black layer yet. It looks like some tarspot and some leaf blight is starting.
