Western ND | The video i seen was crazy, really dry out there. We had one during one of the crazy windy days and got really lucky. In a wheat field and don't know how it didn't jump the county road. And I agree, I don't love fixing fence but have no reservations about cutting one, even if it would be my own, just to stop a fire. Its happened more than once where a fence is cut when a guy comes upon it in the smoke and during mop up you find a gate 150 ft away.
Any organizations getting anything together to help out the ranchers in the Jordan or Cohagen area? I'm guessing a few lost almost all the hay and grass they had. In the video they drove 7.5 miles out of town and pretty much everything was black on both sides of the highway, and just a few sagebrush and bale stacks burning.
From what I read it started by some guy burning something he shouldn't have been without a burn permit. Hate to be in his shoes | |
