Big Sky Country
Some of that country guys winter a lot on grass and cake.

Fil used to like to have a ton of hay per cow, most yrs wouldn't feed it all.

At the least, probably lost winter range and some fence.

We were talking to owners after a grass fire west of here, lady said-- I think you guys like cutting fences. Well, ya--- esp when you know you ain't gotta fix it :-)

That one was running, I had a brush truck on grav l road and knew our 4,000 gal tender was about 5 minutes back, and we'd just rigged. Up front sprays on it. Them guys got shoulder to fence on one pass, and started back doing down wind side. we got brush trucks in brand new holes in fence on downwind side and were able to keep up with spot fires. Woulda been maybe 8 miles for next chance, way wind was blowing.

Fire by Jordan was wind driven and really moving-- they evacuated Jordan and cohagen for a while
