Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska | This has just been a strange year. I never saw a freeze coming this early. It's not supposed to freeze here but were going to be down to 37.
I thought if we held off another couple weeks most places would have been ok for the most part anyway.
Mother Nature keeps trying to get the carryover down and the prices up. In the long run I realize a lot of people have suffered including myself but going into next year, it gives us all a little more hope than what a 3 billion bushel carryover would have given us all winter. That would have led to lower insurance guarantees which would have made banks very tight on lending money. And made break-evens very difficult to pencil out. |
