North Central Illinois | I planted half an acre this year. Pretty much behaves like field corn with a little less stalk strength and slow early growth.
From my years of hand harvest from the garden, targeting 14% moisture seems about right. Too wet or two dry doesn't pop well. Airtight packaging is important once the ideal moisture is reached. Leaving ears on the kitchen counter gets it much too dry. Shelling into mason jars with lids keeps it well.
Discussing marketing is fine as long as folks don't turn it into an advertising attempt for their product. | |
