Subject: RE: Using Cover Crops to Improve Soil and Water Quality

NW IN
I'm interested to dig in NRCS Engineering Manual to find water holding capacity calcs. I looked but appears will take some digging.

Anecdotally, "here" I need to apply less irrigation water to long term no-till/CC farms than the soil map/water holding capacity would indicate. With irrigation I'm removing a lot of risk on water, but also feel like the CC captures excess water and keeps it available as well as a nutrient cycling plan.

Thanks for posting
