If 30 inch rows find 3 samples in the field.....more is better. Pick 17.5 feet of ears in each sample. Shell, Weigh, moisture check. All other single ear picks are worthless. Corn must be black layered and adjusted for moisture. Sorry about your down corn, a realistic check must be a harvestable ear. Good luck!

I use my great grandpas hand crank sheller when doing this........it’s kinda reminiscent.
