Subject: Planting fruit trees

Northeast Illinois

Noticed our local tree nursey had bunch of 5-6' potted apple trees in their yard. This is a pretty reputable company and the trees were healthy and in seemingly very good condition. Wondering if fall is a good time to pop these in the ground or not. Probably had a 1/2 dozen varieties , semi-dwarf rootstock. Thanks for any replies.
