Western South Dakota
Yield boost from pairing two hybrids that have different inbred parents. Also from increased pollination window.

You cant measure the effect by splitting planter on whole field as there is no control. The way I’ve attempted to measure it is by planting test plots within different fields with 5-10 acres being test plot and rest of field one hybrid which is also included in plot.

After a decade of this purposefully placing the plot in tougher ground some years a trend is evident.

Ed Winkle used to say it was worth on average 7 bpa on his operation I believe. I think this range applies to my farm as well.
