I used to get all excited when I pulled an ear with 18 or more around, thinking boy this is going to be great corn. Have found out though that kernels around has more to do with hybrid than anything. 16x35 seems to be a common ear size for the hybrids we tend to plant. Yield from 170-230 depending on kernel size.
