West central missouri | The message I get from his talk is exactly what i believe, that the 4 major beef packers have used their economic and political muscle to create a "market" with no competition. 3 months ago they created a false market to the upside to take political heat from themselves. Today, the same 4 packers are artificially deflating the market. 3 weeks ago Greater Omaha stepped into the national market for a short period and created a little competition. Low and behold, fats went up about $5. What the big 4 are doing is the definition of monopolistic market manipulation. If you think you are smart enough to play with them, it shows your youth and inexperience. Unfortunately, you who apologize for the big packers are listened to and continue to bleed the cattle industry.
