western colorado | I was selling trailer loads of dairy steers to a yard 75 miles away. Once I got a trailer load I’d haul them down there. I did it both ways. On the ground with 3% shrink and delivered with no shrink. It could of been the difference in scales mine was certified his wasn’t. But it paid to haul them. When ever we sold truck loads of feeder cattle I always took the 3% shrink but I always fed my normal two rounds during they day, and then again at midnight. Cattle would usually clean up everything and I never heard any grumbling about them being too full. Makes for a long day feeding @ midnight and loading @ 7am but it pays pretty good too. | |
