Subject: RE: Snodgrass Frost commentary

West of Mpls MN about 50 miles on Hwy 12
Ya, not many corn, and soybean acres are planted in the Arrowhead Region of MN.

The Northern half, and the Arrowhead Region of MN normally experiences frost early/mid September.

Don't let the seed corn sponsors fool you. 32*F does not hurt seed corn germ. Seed corn production on the irrigated central sands area will be fine, it is a small, and magical area. ;-) The big power plants, and the Mississippi river seem to keep the area several degrees warmer than the surrounding areas just a few short miles away.

And the seed corn companies have been harvesting for over a week now in that area, so quite a few seed corn acres have been harvested already.
