When should I grind my corn for a TMR ration? Before or after it goes into the storage bin.

Subject: When should I grind my corn for a TMR ration? Before or after it goes into the storage bin.

Kansas
I have a 54 ton over head bin with 2 separate halves I put corn in. I then pull the TMR under and weigh my corn in.

My question is should I grind the corn before it goes in the bin or after it comes out before it goes into the TMR?

I have an idea of mounting a grinder under my over head bin and grinding the corn as it is coming out.

One year I bought some ground corn from the local mill and it must of been a bit wet. It set up some over the summer and was a bear to get out. I was thinking whole corn would store better. I am concerned with how much time it would take to grind 1500 lbs.

I would only have to auger the corn once. And I could sell the unused portion in the off season, and store my seed wheat from July to September.

I’m just looking for ideas and how other people do this.

Thanks!!
