East of Broken Bow | X3 on air brakes. Had a tandem truck with hydraulic brakes, and the brakes went bad. Estimate to fix the hydraulic brakes, was more than it would have cost to overhaul the engine.
Air brakes: $50 drums, $50 shoes, $50 brake can. Take that X2, plus about 4 hours labor, and you have $500 per axle roughly to totally rebuild the brakes. If the drums come off without having to pull the bearings, cut the labor in half.
My tandem: $120 drums, $150 shoes, $60 wheel cylinders (X2 per wheel) all X 2 for the axle, plus 7-8 hours labor to replace, and my estimate was well over $1200 per axle. | |
