This I ran for a long time. 1975 gmc 427 with a 750 Edelbrock. Air brakes and a 13 speed. 500 on the truck. 400 in the pup. 2.7 mpg.


I got a set up a little like that. 1972 C60/427/13 speed tandem with air brakes and a 385 Kilbros wagon/13 ton gear/surge brakes. Can haul 800 bu, but you really need to anticipate your stops! 30 mile trip one way is about as far as I'd ever pull it.
