| The most you can gain on a short sale is 100%. In your example you shorted 100 shares at $450. So you your initial amount owed to cover the short is $45,000. If the share price dropped to zero you returned $45,000 (100 shares x0 dollars=0) on your amount owed of $45,000. So in your example you cover at $150 for $15,000 cost on $45,000 owed so a return of $30,000 on $45,000 owed or a 66.6% return, right?? | |
