ESW ND | I'm pretty sure I have the book for farmhand manure spreaders...anyways, they had an attachment you hooked onto the back end of the spreader that augered it out to the side. The flighting mixed it in the back then a cross chain on the back put it on the ground....basically just a reverse chuckwagon style feeder. I thought it was pretty neat. It must have been a pain to put on, is maybe the reason it never really took off as an idea to have around. I also thought having a spring loaded trip on the back end would "work" to use as a feed wagon. X amount of feed goes on it, gets so heavy and trips the springs drops a pile on the ground and the springs pull it back up for the next amount. Less expensive than a big mixer wagon, easier to load.....but not all of my thoughts are practical in reallity. lol

Might be kind of slow unloading silage at the pile, but a great way to feed a bunch of cows on frozen ground in winter. Just make sure you put a guard in front of beaters.
