The motion sensor can be set to any distance it really has nothing to do with how close they have to get to the hydrant if you have a 10’ tank or 30 doesn’t matter.what the biggest factor how far your tank is from the hydrant and still allow the water to flow down hill using a pipe ,not threaded on to the hydrant and never a hose.
