Subject: rats in the coop

sleepy hollow , wi
we had some mice with the chickens and ive been catching them for awhile . last nite i closed up the coop and a couple medium size rats were looking for holes when i turned on the lights . 8 hens ,corner of an 100 year old dairy barn with some 60 year old hay upstairs and 2 ft thick stone walls . im thinkin bait boxes with bar bait so chickens cant get at it just not sure if fleet farm baits any good . anything out there works really good or do i get a professional ? old barn across road is a machinery storage building and im sure full of critters so its do both barns or theyre gonna keep goin back and forth . suggestions appreciated .
