I tried the metformin a few weeks again and if there was any improvement in my fasting glucose levels it was so small I could not determine it. Might have made a few points improvement, might have been nothing.
Considering the potential side effects for it not doing what I wanted it to, I quit taking it again. What it is supposed to do is make the cells more insulin sensitive, unlike other diabetes medicines which attempt to increase endogenous insulin levels. Maybe I am already fully insulin sensitive.
I have heard of the burberine. Have not tried it and probably will not. Most medicines, even "natural" ones tend to treat symptoms, which can sometimes be very helpful at times. But unless they help the root cause of the problem they may only be temporary help and not a long term solution.
