East Central SD | You can't have corn race to the finish line because of the issues you mentioned, plus compaction from last year's mudfest and the dryness in most of the midwest and expect big plump kernals and high test weight. Test weight may still be alright but will take a lot of ears with small kernals to fill the bushel basket (think how wheat weighs up). A concern of mine will be rapid drydown with weak ear shanks and cannibalized stalks causing a high amount of ear loss. This could be another market mover, just ask those that experienced it in Nebraska a couple years ago!****** | |
